THINGS TO DO IN SELF-ISOLATION – THE PIZZA EDITION

For the more extroverted among us, staying home and self-isolating won’t be an easy lifestyle transition, while others may not initially notice much change.

Either way, it’s likely we’ll all experience a degree of restlessness, boredom and disconnection at some point over the coming weeks.

To assist with those stay-at-home blues, we’ve compiled a list of things to do while you’re practicing self-isolation.

And yes, you bet we’ve incorporated pizza into every single one.

Order pizza for a loved one

While it’s important we remain physically distant, we must not neglect one another, especially those more vulnerable or just doing it tough.

Consider checking in with a friend or family member over phone or Skype, and don’t forget to check up on your elderly neighbour with a friendly wave from across the fence.

But to truly make their day, why not send a loved one a safe, piping hot pizza?

Perhaps they can’t get to the supermarket or maybe they’re living on their own – whatever the reason, a hot meal is always sure to boost spirits, fill empty stomachs, and let them know you’re thinking of them

Did you know all Domino’s deliveries are now Zero Contact? Forget flowers – nothing says “I’m thinking of you” like a piping hot pizza!

Netflix and pizza

Some of us have been practicing this one for years.

But just because you’re self-isolating doesn’t mean you have to watch movies alone.

Organise a virtual movie night with friends by agreeing to get comfy on your respective couches in front of the same movie at the same time.

Don’t forget to order pizza before the movie begins.

Now that we’ll all be spending more time at home, it might be time to get your own Netflix account…

Challenge yourself

Always wanted to learn a second language but didn’t have the time? Or maybe there’s an art project or online coding course you’ve been wanting to try your hand at?

Whatever it is, now is the perfect time to set yourself a challenge you can complete from home.

Setting goals can help us stay motivated and is also beneficial for our mental wellbeing.

Don’t forget to reward yourself when you complete a challenge!

Get some fresh air

Just because you’re in self-isolation, doesn’t mean you can’t go outside.

A little fresh air could be just the thing you need to overcome that cabin fever.

Why not treat yourself to a picnic in the backyard – bonus points if it’s by the pool!

Host your own dance party

It’s time to turn up the music and get down to some of your favourite tunes.

Sure, it’s not quite the same as tearing up the party dance floor alongside your mates, but there’s never been a better time to dance like no one is watching.

We’re getting Hugh Grant dancing around his prime ministerial residence in Love Actually vibes (a great virtual movie night suggestion, btw).

Now all you need is the perfect playlist.

Get creative

Did you know spending time pursuing creative activities can help improve your attention, decrease stress, and boost your mental health?

So, if you find yourself with a little extra time on your hands, why not dust off those paint brushes, sharpen your pencils and get those creative juices flowing!

You don’t have to be the next DaVinci to reap the benefits!
