Around the world in… nine pizzas!

Around the world in… nine pizzas!

WARNING: This blog has a strong mouth-watering effect. Reader discretion advised. Do not proceed with an empty stomach.

If there's one universal truth, it is that everybody — yes, everybody — likes pizza.

It’s delicious, it’s portable, it’s sharable, it’s just about one of the only foods that hits the spot hot or cold AND there’s enough flavour combinations available that there’s something for everyone, regardless of their dietary requirements or preferences.

As the largest master franchise holder of the Domino’s brand globally, Domino’s Pizza Enterprises (DPE) operates in more than nine countries including Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Japan, Germany, Luxembourg and Denmark with more than 2,700 stores.

While you can always count on a slice of Domino’s signature Pepperoni or Simply Cheese pizza being available, every market also boasts its own unique, country specific menu, full of delicious (and often fascinating) specialities of their own!

That’s right, tingling the local tastebuds of each individual market, our Domino’s stores across the globe offer a range of different flavours to appeal to every resident pizza lover.

We hope you have your ‘pizza passports’ ready, because while international travel may be suspended for the foreseeable future, we’re going on a virtual tour of nine Domino’s stores around the world to check out pizzas we one day dream of eating!

Chicken Kebab Pizza

Country of Origin: Denmark

Begroeting!

That’s ‘hello’ in Dutch, in case you didn’t know.

Topped with rødløg, kylling kebab, hvidløgs dressing roast (aka: red onion, chicken kebab and garlic dressing), Denmark’s seasoned chicken speciality has drawn inspiration from the popular Döner Kebab – a delicious pita wrap stuffed with rotisserie meat shavings and drizzled in garlic sauce.

Now a popular Danish pie, the Kebab Pizza is available at all Domino’s stores in Denmark.

Our only question is: Why is this not available in Australia?!

Crazy Dog Pizza

Country of Origin: Germany

It’s time to say ‘guten tag’ to our next international pizza!

A combination of German sausage, Danish cucumber, tomato ketchup, tartar sauce and fried onions, you simply can’t say ‘nein’ to this German delicacy. This play on all the classic flavours of a cheeseburger and hot dog is simply too delicious!

What do you think? Would you try a slice of this unique German slice?

It’s a ‘Ja’ from me!

The Tsukimi Teri Chiki Tamago

Country of Origin: Japan

An ‘egg-centric’ addition to the Domino’s Japan menu, the Tsukimi Teri Chiki Tamago pizza is only available during Japan’s Tsukimi ‘moon-viewing’ festival, where the nation’s local restaurants and eateries add eggs to all menu items to suit the festivities and traditions of the moon-viewing season!

Featuring soft-boiled eggs, the classic Japanese Tsukimi Teri Chiki Tamago pizza is topped with teriyaki chicken, spicy teriyaki sauce, spinach, creamy mayonnaise, and thick camembert mixed cheese.

An ‘egg-staordinary’ creation if you ask us!

Fig-Goat Pizza

Country of Origin: France

Could this elegant, rich-flavoured pizza be any more decadent?

Smothered in light crème fraîche, mozzarella, goat cheese, bacon, Fourme d'Ambert (a French blue cheese), dried figs and onions and topped with French honey – we can’t help but say, bon appétit to this tasty morsel!

Four Cheese Pizza

Country of Origin: Netherlands

Drowning in the tastiest crème fraîche, mozzarella, goats’ cheese, emmental cheese and gorgonzola the Dutch can offer, this pizza looks ‘grate’ and tastes even ‘feta’!

See what we did there?

Sorry… we hate to be cheesy, but this pizza is too good to be true!

Sausage Sizzle

Country of Origin: Australia

G’day!

This pizza is about as Aussie as it gets: sliced sausage, caramelised onion and a dollop of BBQ sauce and mustard, an Australian staple transformed into an iconic pizza.

Trust us when we say this classic Aussie recipe of a snag, tomato sauce and onion tastes even better on a pizza!

Mr Wedge

Country of Origin: New Zealand

I don’t know about you, but in our humble opinion – golden, oven baked potato wedges are just begging to be served on a piping hot pizza!

Joining New Zealand’s premium Manuka smoked ham, red onion, mozzarella and oregano on a BBQ & garlic sauce base and topped with creamy mayonnaise, the Mr Wedge pizza ranks as one of the highest (and most sought-after) of Domino’s international pizza delicacies.

So, what do you think? Would you try a slice of this iconic Kiwi favourite?

Pizza Diabolika

Country of Origin: Belgium

Belgian pizza lovers unite: the Diabolika is indeed diabolical!

Sprinkled with minced meat, Merguez (a spiced mutton sausage), chilli peppers, red onion and mozzarella on a tomato sauce base, this is one of Belgium’s most loved Domino’s pizzas and you can see why – it’s full of local flavour and oomph!

Say it with us now… “Jammie!” (that’s ‘yummy’ in Dutch!).

Shrimp Pizza

Country of Origin: Domino’s Luxembourg

Well, it’s official. This pizza is ‘shrimply’ the best!

In Luxembourg, you can’t go wrong with fresh seafood. This pizza is simple flavours done well, and it doesn’t disappoint!

Topped with fresh tomatoes, fresh prawns, mozzarella cheese and a creamy garlic sauce drizzle, this Shrimp pizza just makes sense.

Hungry? Don’t worry, us too!

Why not put your pizza making skills to the test with Domino’s Pizza Chef tool and use the above pizzas for inspiration to create your own delicacy?

After all, you can’t go wrong with pizza.
