Meet Anthony – Domino’s Operations Innovations Manager.

A true Dominoid through and through, Anthony is the shining example of what saying ‘YES’ to every opportunity at Domino’s can land you: a position in one of the most exciting technology teams in the world!

With more than 20 years’ experience at Domino’s, we chatted with Anthony about his transition from storeland to corporate life.

“I actually first joined Domino’s in the year 2000, which seems like a lifetime ago now!

“I was still in high school, and my parents were always nagging me to get a job. Domino’s had just opened up in New Farm and was new to the area, so I thought I’d apply. Little did I know that I would still be in the business 21 years later!”

Beginning as an in-store team member helping to make dough, Anthony said he loved the fast paced nature of Domino’s, and the fact that there was never a dull moment.

It wasn’t until Domino’s New Farm became the first store in Australia to adopt the new businesses new Point of Sale (POS) system, that he was given the opportunity to go to Melbourne to help open new stores and train new team members on the system.

“During this time, I got to work closely with the IT Manager and the POS development team, and from there I was given the opportunity to continue the work I was doing at Head Office.

“Essentially, I was able to make the transition from store to Head Office, simply by saying yes to an opportunity that came my way. The rest is history I guess!

“Over the years I have had numerous roles within the Technology Team, finally landing in the Operations Innovations Team, that helps to develop, rollout and support all technology products that form part of the ‘behind the counter’ experience.”

The best part? Getting to trial and test a lot of cool technology.

“The innovation in some of the technology we get to work on and deploy into our stores is amazing! I love that after months of testing and tweaking, we get to see the fruits of our labour when we release it to stores.

“It is impossible to be bored as there is always something crazy and fantastic happening!”

His advice to other people eager to land their dream job?

“Always be open to trying new things and say yes to every opportunity you are offered. The only opportunity you will regret is the one you don’t take!”
