Peddling all the way to 10,000 deliveries
If you’ve ever seen a Domino’s Delivery Expert give you a wave as they ride safely by on an e-bike, you may have just witnessed record-breaking Domino’s Hamilton Store Manager Aden, who recently achieved 10,000 e-bike deliveries, in action.
Yes, you read that correctly: 10,000 e-bike deliveries! So just how did Aden reach this milestone? Let us tell you.
Back in 2006, Aden began his career in pizza – falling in love with the job and the hustle it took to safely deliver people piping hot meals, fast!
More than 15 years on, Aden says he still loves working at Domino’s as much as he did on day one because the business allows him to be himself, help other team members grow, and welcome new people into the Domino’s family!
When Domino’s introduced e-bikes in 2015, Aden was one of the first to embrace the new delivery method.
“You don’t have to spend time looking for a park, so delivering a customer’s order via an e-bike is often faster than a car, which means I get a nice, surprised reaction from the customer when I arrive at their door.
“While I’m out on a delivery, I also often see a lot of our customers, so I always make sure to give them a little wave, which helps build a good relationship,” says Aden.
Not only does Aden love e-bikes because they are eco-friendly and quiet, but he also enjoys the variety they allow in his daily work.
“After spending a few hours working in the store, it’s always good to get some fresh air, and catch a little bit of sun, all while delivering piping hot pizzas!”
Aden also believes that by being a passionate e-bike Delivery Expert himself, he will help inspire fellow team members.
“I think by being happy to get out and complete deliveries on the e-bikes, it demonstrates a real ‘team’ feel to our store, and also encourages team members to try using an e-bike themselves.”
So how does Aden feel about being the first person in Australia and New Zealand to achieve 10,000 e-bike deliveries?
“It’s a nice goal to reach, and I’m surprised I’m the first to achieve it, given how many e-bike riders we have at Domino’s. When I was sitting on just over 9,000 deliveries, I upped my pedalling efforts to 200 deliveries per week to reach 10,000,” says Aden.
While Aden may have been the first at Domino’s to reach 10,000 e-bike deliveries, he’s hoping he won’t be the last.
“My next goal isn’t to achieve a new milestone of deliveries myself, but instead to have one of my own team members join me in reaching 10,000 e-bike deliveries.”
Domino’s is proud to use e-bikes as part of its delivery fleet to help reduce our environmental impact and provide a fun, safe and active way for team members to deliver pizzas to customers.
