Throw out the pavlova, there’s a new Christmas dessert in town.

It’s as traditional as tinsel on the tree, a leg of ham on the table, cricket on the television … and a pizza for dessert.

Wait, what?

Aren’t plum puddings and Christmas cakes the standard fare on Australian tables?

But it’s true. This Summer, Domino’s is shaking up dessert with its very first dessert pizza.

Who wants Christmas pudding when you could have pizza plus chocolate – in one.

The dessert pizza has marshmallows and brownies, on a chocolate sauce base, and its sprinkled with chocolate bits and icing sugar.

Yum!

It’s a big change for the pizza company; Domino’s has never had a Dessert Pizza on its Australian menu since it launched more than 30 years ago.

It may seem like a stretch – but just like your favourite regular pizza this dessert pizza is perfect for sharing when friends and family are joining you for dinner.

So, just as Australians’ Summer and Christmas meal preferences have evolved with the times, moving from hot roast dinners to buffets of prawns and seafood, now dessert is evolving too.

Which means at more and more family tables this Christmas season ‘pass the pav please’ will be replaced by ‘pass the pizza’.
