Best thing since sliced bread: Domino’s launches oven baked sandwiches

Domino’s is on a roll when it comes to new product innovations, reminding customers they are more than just pizza, with the addition of oven baked sandwiches hitting the menu across all stores in Australia from today.

Domino’s CEO Australia and New Zealand Nick Knight said the range of handmade to order sandwiches included on-trend, popular ingredients like avocado, kale-slaw and Southern-style, crispy chicken tenders.

“At Domino’s, we are all about giving customers choice, which is why we are excited to be expanding our menu with new options,” Mr Knight said.

“Our oven baked sandwiches are handmade to order and packed with premium ingredients.

“We pride ourselves on listening to our customers and delivering the flavours they’re asking for. Our oven baked sandwiches are packed with popular, high quality ingredients, allowing customers to indulge at a great price.”

Mr Knight said Domino’s first launched oven baked sandwiches nine years ago but have made a lot of changes.

“Last time we added oven baked sandwiches to the menu, the feedback from customers was that they were too hard and crispy. That’s why we have been working on our new range for about six months to make sure we get them just right,” he said.

“This time around, we are using a ciabatta that is light, fluffy and soft in the middle, while still having a delicious outer crust.

“We have also done extensive research and online testing to make sure we are using flavours we know our customers will love.”

With the Company’s 20 Minute Service Guarantee, the menu addition is also the perfect lunch option for everyone from busy office workers to time-poor tradies.

The range of oven baked sandwiches includes four fillings – Chicken, Bacon and Avocado; Crispy Bacon and Sausage; 6 Meats; and Crispy Chicken and Slaw.

In addition to oven baked sandwiches, Domino’s has also launched a new King Size range of pizzas today, featuring the Quattro, King Supreme, King Duo and the Giga Meat.

“Our huge 40-centimetre King Size pizzas are packed with toppings for a serious flavour hit and loaded with extra cheese,” Mr Knight said.

“Our Quattro pizza is ideal for all food sharing occasions, featuring four of Domino’s most popular pizza recipes all in one, with four fully loaded quarters of Pepperoni, Supreme, BBQ Meatlovers and Hawaiian.

“People who love meat can now also indulge with the Giga Meat, which is topped with lots of crispy rasher bacon, pepperoni, ground beef, succulent seasoned chicken, Italian sausage, smoked leg ham plus pork and fennel sausage.”

Other new products added to Domino’s menu today include:

  • Chicken Tenders

  • Choc Chip Cookie Extreme Sundae

  • Choc Brownie Extreme Sundae
