Domino’s appoints new Global Development Chef
Australia’s largest pizza company Domino’s has appointed a new Global Development Chef, Michael Treacy, who is cooking up big plans to create new flavours and introduce new products to the Domino’s menu.
Starting at a woodfired pizza restaurant in his home town in country Victoria, Michael has been on a food journey that has taken him around the world to the likes of Foliage at the Mandarin Oriental Knightsbridge and the ultimate luxury hotel in London Claridge’s.
“I started my cooking career at the young age of 14 years old and fell in love with the pace, atmosphere and passion of the people involved and knew I had found my calling,” he said.
“Over the next 20 years, I worked everywhere from food manufacturers to the Michelin starred restaurants and luxury hotels in London.
“My love for Australia ultimately brought me home where I spent time running restaurants in Melbourne before returning to the country and starting a family.
“Following the move, I have spent the past five years in product development at leading Australian food manufacturers with a focus on wellness products.”
Michael’s vision for the future Domino’s menu direction is diversity and is quick to acknowledge that Domino’s is more than just a pizza at dinnertime occasion.
“I am excited about the potential for further flavour development and the creativity that comes from being in the fast-paced, dynamic environment at Domino’s,” he said.
“I have a huge amount of respect for the growth of the Domino’s menu and the focus on flavour over the last decade and hope to continue that legacy.”
Domino’s Pizza Enterprises was Australia’s first publicly-listed pizza company and is the master franchisor for the Domino’s brand in Australia, New Zealand, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Japan and Germany. Across these seven markets, DPE and its franchisees operate over 2,400 stores.
