Legally dancing: Domino’s Legal Counsel is raising vital funds to support Women’s Legal Service Queensland

Domino’s Pizza Enterprises is dipping its dancing toes in the Dancing CEOs 2019 event for a second time with this year’s representative, Senior Legal Counsel, Erin Walford taking to the stage in May raising vital funds for Women’s Legal Service Queensland.

Taking part in this year’s event, Erin will be dancing for a worthy cause; supporting women and kids facing domestic violence. Women’s Legal Service Queensland provides free legal and welfare help to women in Queensland.

“The situation with family violence is horrifying and as a legal practitioner I believe I have a duty to the community to help wherever and however I can,” Erin said.

“After meeting the team behind the Women’s Legal Service Queensland and hearing about their amazing service and the incredible support they provide women and kids living with domestic violence, I jumped on board with Dancing CEOs 2019 to do what I could to help raise funds and awareness. Learning a dance routine is nothing compared to the work they do day in day out.”

In 2017, Domino’s Franchise Consultant for Queensland, Scott Matterson won Judge’s Choice in Dancing CEOs, raising more than $11,500.

As well as Erin’s role as Senior Legal Counsel at Domino’s Pizza Enterprises, she is also on the Board of Directors and Company Secretary for a Domino’s registered national charity Give For Good Limited, which is dedicated to helping with disaster relief, education and youth initiatives, supporting rural communities and encouraging and fostering leadership. Having been with Domino’s for more than eight years, the Domino’s legal team she works with is made up of dynamo lawyers, paralegals and administration support officers. They have been working alongside Erin in her fundraising activities in the community.

“The team at Domino’s is dedicated to the practice of law, to our franchisees and company, and to giving back to the community – this extends right through our business. You won’t find a more dedicated bunch of phenomenal people. I am blown away by the support for this worthy cause.” said Erin.

Within three months, Erin has raised a little over $10,000 of her individual $15,000 target. Generous donations from local supporters and business owners to date have included a significant donation from international law firm DLA Piper Lawyers, Australian Trampoline maker, Vuly who have donated their Ultra Large Trampoline. Also donated is an original painting by iconic Australian artist Donald J Waters OAM, Domino’s Pizza for a Year, a Brisbane Broncos merchandise pack, a pack of designer bedding and homewares by Australian homewares company, Kip & Co, and a Sunset Cruise from Second Wind Sailing.
