Domino’s team members dough-nate to charity

This June, Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Limited (“Domino’s”) is celebrating Workplace Giving Month with more than 30 per cent of head office staff now giving to charity through their pay.

Domino’s Director of Giving John Harney said the Company introduced workplace giving two years ago and has seen a huge uptake since then, with an increase of 14 per cent in the past year alone.

“Domino’s introduced workplace giving to its registered charity Give for Good in March 2017, with the goal of reaching 30 per cent of all head office team members giving through their pay each week by the end of 2020,” Mr Harney said.

“Give for Good supports education and youth initiatives, leadership and entrepreneurship, rural communities and disaster relief in communities across Australia, through national partners like The Smith Family and the Australian Scholarships Foundation.

“With more than 33 per cent of staff now donating through their pay, we’re proud to share we have hit our target a year early and are working on expanding the program to all team members across Australia.

“Since establishing Give for Good in 2016 and providing more opportunities for team members to give back to the community, we’ve seen a real increase in employee engagement and satisfaction.”

Domino’s matches all workplace giving donations dollar-for-dollar and gives head office staff the opportunity to allocate one day per year to a charity of their choice to offer their time, knowledge, experience and skills.

“Our team members also give their time through charitable initiatives like The Smith Family’s Toy and Book Appeal; sorting and delivering toy and book packages to children in need at Christmas time,” he said.

“Twice a year, Domino’s HQ opens its doors to students from The Smith Family for a ‘Work Inspiration’ program, with workshops across different departments such as marketing, digital and supply chain.

“Teams also regularly volunteer at Community Friends, an initiative that supports the homeless, helping to distribute piping hot pizzas to those in need.

“These volunteering opportunities allow us to give back to the communities in which we operate and engages our team members in our mission.”
