Gawler Locals Enjoys best Domino’s pizzas in the country
Gawler locals have been enjoying some of the best Domino’s pizzas in the country, with Domino’s Gawler achieving the highest average product quality score on DOM Pizza Checker over the past 12 months.
The world-first technology, which sits above the cut bench and uses artificial intelligence to grade pizzas in real-time, was introduced in 2019 to improve product quality and consistency in Domino’s stores across Australia and New Zealand.
One year on and more than 50 million pizzas later, the results are in… Domino’s Gawler in South Australia makes the best pizzas nationally, with an average grade of 94 per cent!
Domino’s Australia and New Zealand CEO Nick Knight said the technology was introduced to solve the Company’s most common customer complaint.
“One of the most common customers complaints we used to receive was that a pizza didn’t look like it should – whether that be because it was made poorly, or didn’t include the correct toppings. We developed DOM Pizza Checker to solve that tension, and to ensure that every single pizza that goes out the door, even in busy periods, meets our high standards.”
Domino’s Gawler Franchisee Dhiren Shah said the new technology had been well received by the team.
“Since we installed DOM Pizza Checker, we’ve seen a real shift in attitude and behaviour in our store. It’s really gamified the pizza making process, and encouraged friendly competition between team members and neighbouring stores – with everyone on a mission to make the best pizzas possible.
“The team absolutely love chasing a 100 per cent score on DOM Pizza Checker, and seeing how long they can go before a ‘remake’ is required. It’s also increased visibility over areas for improvement, allowing us to identify where extra training is required,” Mr Shah said.
“But it’s our customers who are the real winners. They are receiving some of the hottest, freshest, highest quality pizzas we have ever delivered, and DOM Pizza Checker is a big part of why.”
DOM Pizza Checker uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to recognise, analyse and grades pizzas based on pizza type, correct toppings and topping distribution. It then sends customers a real-time image of their pizza before it’s cut, boxed and hustled out the door.
