Mr and Mrs Pizza take home Domino’s top Global Leadership Eagle Award

Domino’s franchisees from the Sunshine Coast, David and Melissa Burness, are the winners of Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Ltd’s (DPE) most prestigious award – the Global Leadership Eagle.

Awarded to just one recipient each year across DPE’s nine markets internationally, the Golden Eagle was presented to the Burness’ in recognition of their outstanding contribution in leadership, operational excellence and a consistent dedication to furthering the growth of Domino’s over the past 29 years.

Mr and Mrs Burness currently own and operate five Domino’s stores in Gympie, Maroochydore, Maryborough, Nambour and Noosa, employing hundreds of team members and inspiring the next generation of leaders.

“We are incredibly honoured to be awarded the DPE Global Leadership Eagle,” said Mr Burness.

“The last six months especially has reminded us what a privilege it is to be active members of our local communities, from providing job opportunities to locals, to feeding those working on the frontline to keep us safe and our society moving.

“We love being the ‘Mr and Mrs Pizza’ in our local communities – thank you to all those who have supported us over the years.”

The award was announced last night at Domino’s Australia and New Zealand annual Rally event, which was hosted virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with Domino’s teams from both sides of the Tasman tuning in for the ceremony.
