Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Ltd celebrates official 3000th store opening

Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Ltd (ASX:DMP) has celebrated the opening of its official 3000th store - in Dresden, Germany.

In 2021 the Company has opened 206 new stores and has acquired its 10th market Taiwan and over the next 3-5 years plans to open new stores at a rate of 9-11% of the network annually.

Group CEO & Managing Director Don Meij said this fast paced growth ironically meant the Company has already reached the 3,000 store milestone when official plans were underway - when Taiwan joined the business in August.

“It’s important we recognise our milestones, as they are a tribute to the franchisees and team members who have worked so far to build thriving businesses,” Mr Meij said.

“It has taken us more than three decades to reach this point, and we intend to reach the next 3,000 stores in about a decade.”

“It is fitting this milestone store has opened in Germany, given it is one of our fastest growing markets.”

Stoffel Thijs, CEO Germany, said the new store was opened by existing franchisee Peter Weißenborn – his 2nd store.

“This is the 10th store for Dresden, and an important step in fortressing the market – allowing us to deliver more efficiently to new and current customers, and to add new carry-out customers for whom this is now their nearest store.

“I’m excited on behalf of the team, not just in Dresden but throughout our market, with plans to set a new record for store openings this Financial Year.”

Mr Meij said: “Over the coming months we will recognise this milestone in each of our own markets in a local way, including developing a 3,000 tree forest with partners Treedom, as part of our Domino’s for Good program.

“But like all of our milestones, these are simply a marker on our continued growth – we intend to open our 4,000th store in Calendar Year 2023, and our 5,000th store during Calendar Years 2026-27.

“Our long-term milestone of 6,650 stores by Financial Year 2033 is just another step to more stores beyond in our existing businesses, particularly in Europe and Asia, and we remain active in pursuing suitable acquisitions.”
