Pizza Run: the fun run with a ‘cheesy’ Domino’s twist
Domino’s is partnering with international fun-run event Pizza Run to bring a ‘slice’ of family fun to Australia for a second year in a row, with events set to be held in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne.
This year, Pizza Run will see more than 2500 participants run either 2km, 5km or 10km across four locations to earn a slice of their favourite food: Domino’s pizza.
The best part? The further you run, the more slices of Domino’s pizza you earn!
Domino’s ANZ Chief Marketing Officer Adam Ballesty said Pizza Run is all about getting out and having fun.
“The purpose of the event is to create an accessible way for people to get into running by eliminating the competitive edge,” he said.
“At Domino’s, we believe in pizza for everyone, and so what better way to celebrate people coming together from different backgrounds, cultures and fitness levels to try something new than with a slice of their favourite pie?
“Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned runner, we encourage all Aussies to register for a Pizza Run in their city and grab a ‘slice’ of the action today!”
Pizza Run founder, Ben Walsh said that when looking for a pizza partner to bring the event down under, he knew Domino’s couldn’t be ‘topped’.
“Domino’s is the leading pizza Company in Australia and thankfully caters to all dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free,” Mr Walsh said.
“They are also experts in delivering Hot & Fresh pizza on a large scale. By partnering with Domino’s, I can trust that we will have the correct amount of pizza delivered on time, every time.
“This is such an important part of the event because the more dietary requirements we can cater to, the more hungry runners we can feed!
“If spending time outdoors, connecting with others and getting active doesn’t excite you – then I’m sure a piping hot slice of Domino’s pizza waiting for you at the finish line will!”
The family-friendly, all ages event will offer participants the opportunity to partake in a disco warm up hosted by a Pizza Run DJ, before running either a 2km, 5km or 10km track to cross the finish line and earn a special pizza shaped medal and slices of Domino’s pizza.
The fun run also encourages runners to participate in the unique running experience to raise funds for a charity or cause of their choice.
Mr Walsh said that he is a strong believer in people running for causes they believe in, and that by empowering participants to nominate a cause close to their own heart, they will be more inspired and motivated to run.
