Favourite pizza: Meatlovers
When I first sat down to ponder, what’s so good about deep pan? I did what any grown adult would do when posed with a question they don’t know they answer to; I called my mum.
“Deep pan pizza is more filling,” she tells me.
“One day when you’re responsible for providing a filling meal for the whole family, you’ll choose deep pan pizza too.”
Di, a fellow mother and deep pan fanatic, agrees.
“Deep pan is better value for money when you’re feeding the family.
“The thicker base makes the same pizza go further. I order deep pan when the family all come around for dinner!”
Meet Scott
Favourite pizza: Hawaiian
Self-confessed deep pan fan, Scott, often craves a refuelling, carb-filled treat at the end of a demanding day.
“A thin ‘n’ crispy crust is fine if I just want a snack, but I prefer a deep pan pizza when I’m looking for something more satiating.”
As well as the added pepp(eroni) in his step, Scott says the soft, fluffy bite of a deep pan pizza reminds him of childhood family dinners.
“As a kid, whenever my family ordered pizza, it would be deep pan.
“I grew up eating deep pan, and today it’s still my go-to crust.”

Favourite pizza: Vegan Loaded Burger
When it comes to a top-quality pizza, Erin knows what she likes, and she isn’t willing to settle for anything less.
“A good deep pan pizza is all about the perfect crispy to fluffy ratio,” she said.
“Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.”
Crispy but fluffy, got it.
“You’ve also got to have the perfect balance of toppings. Too many toppings on a deep pan and it won’t cook properly, not enough and the crust starts to overpower the toppings.
“I choose deep pan because there’s more to chew in every bite. Did you know the longer you chew your food, the longer you’ll feel full?”
