It’s undeniable: Kiwis love getting on the sauce.
Last year alone New Zealanders added an extra 72 tonnes of post-bake sauce to their favourite Domino’s pizzas. That’s enough to marinate the entire All Blacks squad more than 20 times – and still have enough to drown the Wallabies’ hopes and dreams.
We thought introducing a one-off Saucy Sunday back in March – a free post-bake sauce on any pizza – would help alleviate those sweet, spicy and creamy cravings, but no. This seems to have only stirred New Zealand’s sauce obsession even further.
Now we are a bit scared about how far you lot will go now that we have officially launched our Loaded Saucy Pizza range. The range features five new pizzas, loaded with saucy goodness as well as the launch of two epic new sauces: Mango Habanero & Atomic.
Allan Collins, Domino’s ANZ Chief Marketing Officer understands a true Kiwi loves their sauce and this range was developed in response to the tonnes of sauce added to Kiwi pizzas each year.
“The Loaded Saucy Pizza range is a full flavour explosion. We’ve created these pizzas for people who believe the sauce is the star and not just a side act. From the sweet heat of Mango Habanero to the firepower of Atomic and the creamy familiarity of Ranch, there is something for every sauce lover to sink their teeth into.”
It might officially be more sauce than a Kiwi can handle which is why Domino’s is urgently seeking an Official New Zealand Sauce-orer. Someone who doesn’t just love sauce, but considers themselves THE sauce when it comes to adding that extra drizzle, dollop or dip of flavour.
Domino’s Head of Product Development and Innovation, Michael Tracey agreed the launch of Domino’s sauciest pizzas yet was the perfect time to find who believes sauce isn’t just an extra, but an essential.
“At Domino’s, we know a good pizza starts with an expertly sauced base and ends with the perfect drizzle on top. We take our saucing very seriously and are looking for someone who has at least 5 years' experience in hitting the sauce and knows the perfect pizza to sauce ratio, a well-kept industry secret!”
To apply candidates are asked complete a survey, including answering why they should be Domino’s first ever Saucer-orer and what the magic sauce combination they like to wield on their favourite pizza and why.
The successful applicant will get to try the entire Loaded Saucy Pizzas range and go behind-the-scenes at Domino’s Mount Eden in Auckland for a day to craft their very own saucy creation with the help of our finest pizza chefs.

Domino’s new Loaded Saucy Pizza Range, available from Monday, 14 July in stores across New Zealand includes:
Mega Meatlovers Pizza: Featuring smoked ham, perfectly seasoned chicken, Italian sausage, ground beef, pepperoni and crispy rasher bacon, brought together with a BBQ sauce. Mega loaded, mega tasty.
Mango Habanero Chicken Pizza: Extra spicy! Chicken, capsicum, red onion and stretchy mozzarella cheese on a creme fraiche base. Topped with a sweet yet spicy mango & habanero sauce.
Atomic Meats Pizza: Loaded with smoked ham, ground beef, pepperoni, tomato, capsicum and fiery jalapenos, topped with a super spicy chilli and habanero sauce, this pizza is not for the faint hearted.
Ranch Supreme Pizza: Crispy rasher bacon, baby spinach, capsicum, mushroom, juicy pineapple, seasoned ground beef, smoked ham, Italian sausage, pepperoni, topped with a saucy crowd favourite, creamy ranch.
The Carnivore Pizza: Vegetarians beware, this pizza is packed with crispy rasher bacon, seasoned ground beef, Italian sausage and seasoned chicken topped with a creamy hollandaise swirl.
