Baking History: Domino’s opens 17,000th store in the world in Australia!
Pizza lovers in Bradbury, New South Wales were privy to a ‘slice’ of history earlier this week, after Domino’s opened it’s 17,000th store globally in the neighbourhood.
Throwing the pizza party to rival all pizza parties, Domino’s Bradbury gave out free pizzas to hungry locals for an entire hour to celebrate the occasion.
But what’s better than free pizza? Free pizza and the chance to win some cold, hard cash!
For 17 lucky pizza lovers, their piping hot pizza came with a hidden “Golden Slice” worth $1,000.
VIPP (VERY IMPORTANT PIZZA PEOPLE)
To officially mark this milestone, a team of Domino’s executives from around the world, including Executive Vice President - International Joe Jordan, were in attendance for a special ribbon cutting ceremony.
“Domino’s opened its first international store in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1983. We’ve come a long way since then,” Mr Jordan said.
“It’s a true testament to how hard Domino’s has worked to reach such a monumental success.”
Our very own Group CEO and Managing Director Don Meij, and Australia and New Zealand CEO Nick Knight were also in attendance on the day.
“This is an incredible milestone for the Domino’s brand, and we’re honoured that it is happening in Australia,” Mr Meij said.
“The first Domino’s store in Australia opened in 1983 and since then we have grown to 700 stores across the country, and 2,600 stores in nine markets around the world. We couldn’t be more thrilled to commemorate Domino’s 17,000th store in the world, right here in Bradbury.
“Domino’s is a global business that is deeply ingrained in local communities all over the world, and we’re proud this milestone was celebrated in Australia.
“We are excited to be a part of the Bradbury community and can’t wait to bring people closer with the world’s best bonding food!”
