Ride and pie: Domino’s Pepperoni Pizza car winner reveals all
When Domino’s announced we were giving away a car for wheel, there was one small catch: the car was covered in pepperoni and those who wanted to be in with a chance to win this unique car had to tell us why they were Australia’s biggest pizza lover.
And tell us they did. From poems to songs to um, well, interesting outfits, the show-topping pepperoni-covered Toyota Yaris SX was in piping hot demand.
WHEELY GOOD: Max celebrates upon receiving his Pepperoni-covered car!
Alas, there could only be one winner: Max from Sydney, who blew the pepperoni off the pizza with his bespoke song and skit telling us exactly why he was Australia’s biggest pizza lover.
Having recently received his pepperoni-covered Toyota Yaris SX, we caught up with Max to find out how he felt when he found out he’d be rolling around Sydney in a supreme car.
“Being a huge pizza lover, it’s hard to convey my feelings for pizza when I drive. But now with my new pepperoni car, everyone will know how much I love pizza! I will be the talk of the town, and when I drive past people will say “Hey, there’s that pizza guy!”” said Max.
With Max’s entry taking a pizza of Domino’s heart (you can watch it in full below), Max shared the winning ingredients behind his entry.
“Of course, my entry was a little exaggerated, but I wanted to show just how much pizza means to me, so I made a quirky song with a fun montage. My vision was to create a theme song to my pizza-loving life. Essentially, if there was a TV show about me, the biggest pizza lover, what would it look like?
“I wrote the music in garage band, which took a few days, and then started on the lyrics, which I found fun as I could get quite creative. The hardest part was filming, which my wife helped with. All up, my entry probably took about one week from start to finish,” shared Max.
But Max took it even further, decking himself out in a pizza-themed outfit.
“Every ambassador needs a unique outfit, so I researched what I thought might make a perfect ensemble for my entry. The best part? I still have my outfit, so I’m excited to wear it when driving my new car.” Spoiler: Max wasn’t kidding – scroll down to see him in his new car, outfit and all!
It’s not every day you find out you’ve won a car, let alone one covered in your favourite food, so how did Max feel when he received the news he was Australia’s biggest pizza fan?
“I was in disbelief. I couldn’t believe I would be in possession of one of the most unique cars in the world! Of course, I also celebrated with a slice (or two!) of Domino’s pizza!”

For some, a pepperoni-covered car would be reserved for special occasions only, but Max has given lots of thought as to how often you might spot him cruising the streets in his special slice of Domino’s.
“I’m torn, because it’s such a unique car, so I think rolling it out for special occasions like weddings and birthdays would be a good call to make. But if I’m being honest, I want to have this car on display all the time, so don’t be surprised if you see me around in this car often – I’m sure I’m going to make people very hungry!”
So why does Max think he is Australia’s biggest pizza lover?
“If my entry is anything to go by, I clearly do love pizza. With this car, it’s going to be even harder to argue that I’m not! All that’s left is to win a pepperoni pizza house!”
The biggest question of all for Max: is Pepperoni Pizza really his favourite?
“I absolutely love all pizza toppings, but my go to is Pepperoni Pizza. Although, I think it’s hard to beat a Margherita, too.”
