Domino’s has today announced the appointment of a Chief Garlic Bread Taste Tester, following a nationwide search that attracted almost 7,500 hungry candidates from across the globe.

Brisbane mathematics student Zach Gracie, 21, will today step into the role and work alongside Domino’s Culinary and Innovation Chef Michael Treacy.

Mr Treacy said Zach presented some truly ‘outside the box’ ideas in his video application – from Macaroni Garlic Bread to ‘Breadedict Cumbergarlic’ to Triple Choc Brownie Garlic Bread.

“I’ll be honest – with so many amazing applicants it was tough to choose just one,” Mr Treacy said.

“But Zach demonstrated an incredible knowledge of garlic bread that far exceeds that of your average garlic bread consumer.

“He was familiar with garlic breads even I didn’t know existed… truly broadening our horizons and offering immense value to the business.

“We look forward to welcoming him to Domino’s Head Office and getting his valuable feedback on one of our most iconic menu items.”

Zach, who also enjoys a cheesy garlic bread pizza with anchovies, believes he was born and bread for the role.

“It really is the opportunity of a lifetime and I’m so excited to join the Domino’s team for the day and meet people who share my passion for garlic bread and food innovation,” he said.

“It’s not a responsibly I take lightly, and I won’t let Australia down!”

Zach donned his Chief Garlic Bread Taste Tester apron for the very first time on Thursday 7 November 2019 – receiving an exclusive tour of Domino’s Garlic Bread Factory, reviewing the Company’s existing garlic breads, and taste testing some of the top-secret menu items currently in the works.
