RECIPE FOR SUCCESS: Domino’s Awarded ‘Best Vegan Pizza’
Domino’s new plant-based pizza range was recently recognised by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in the inaugural 2019 Australia Vegan Food Awards.
The Vegan Taco Fiesta, which features vegan cheese, plant-based beef, capsicum, diced tomato, red onion and a creamy taco sauce, was officially crowned ‘Best Vegan Pizza’ in the country.
Domino’s Australia and New Zealand CEO Nick Knight said he was proud of the team for delivering a tasty, award-winning product exclusive to Domino’s.
“Pizza is our passion and we want to ensure that everyone can share in the joy of pizza, regardless of their religious, ethical, dietary or lifestyle choices.
“The product development team worked for months to develop this range, sourcing the best quality and tastiest plant-based products to satisfy the tastebuds of our customers,” he said.
“Our existing Beef & Onion pizza is among our top five most popular pizzas nationally, and beef is our second highest selling topping – so we already know it’s a product our customers love.
“We set out to share this love by serving up a range of tasty plant-based pizzas that offers our customers more choice at no extra charge.
“Now having plant-based food lovers from PETA recognise the quality of our products and ingredients is just the icing on the cake, or perhaps the sauce on our pizza.
“We look forward to sharing our love of pizza with even more Australian pizza fans.”
