Domino’s to deliver a slice of the Ekka to customer’s homes

Domino’s will be delivering a slice of the Ekka to customer’s homes today, but not just in the form of pizza… the delivery experts will also be sending out thousands of iconic Bertie Beetle Showbags.

The Showbags – which include 12 delicious Bertie Beetles – will be sent out with delivery orders to customers in the Brisbane, Moreton Bay and Scenic Rim regions on Wednesday 11 August 2021.

Domino’s ANZ CEO Nick Knight said the Company is proud to be spreading a little joy during such a challenging time.

“First a lockdown, then the cancellation of one of the favourite family days on the calendar, the Ekka, and the Ekka public holiday, it’s certainly been rough few weeks for South East Queensland,” Mr Knight said.

“That’s why we wanted to do something to lift spirits and put a smile on people’s faces.

“We know a lot of people were looking forward to the Ekka, especially after it was cancelled last year, and that the Bertie Beetle Showbag is such an iconic part of the Show.

“While we may not be able to attend the Ekka year, that doesn’t mean we can’t safely deliver a small slice of it to your home, alongside your favourite pizza order via Zero Contact.

“Covid has taken many things from us, but we’ll be damned if it takes Bertie too!”

All 75 Domino’s stores in the Brisbane, Moreton Bay and Scenic Rim regions will be stocked with a limited supply of Bertie Beetle Showbags, which will be sent out with random delivery orders on Wednesday 11 August, to ‘surprise and delight’ some lucky customers.
