Domino’s delivers 200,000 pizzas to people in ‘knead’
Domino’s support of those in ‘knead’ has reached new heights this giving season, as stores across Australia and New Zealand record a milestone 200,000 pizzas donated through the Company’s Feed the Knead program.
Established in 2020, Feed the Knead has gone from strength to strength to provide for individuals and communities doing it tough.
The program invites people to nominate those who may need some extra assistance during times of hardship via a form on the Domino’s website, providing localised support by giving them one less thing to worry about – a safe, hot meal.
In just three years since the program’s inception, Domino’s stores across Australia and New Zealand have proudly donated more than 200,000 pizzas, which is the equivalent of 173 pizzas donated daily.
Domino’s ANZ CEO Don Meij expressed his gratitude for the ongoing community support behind the program.
“When we launched our Feed the Knead program, we were deeply moved by the way communities banded together nominate those in need; a local effort with national impact that makes a difference, one slice at a time,” Mr Meij said.
“The simple gesture of providing a hot meal to someone in need can change the trajectory of a day, week or year for those facing challenging circumstances, especially in cases where access to food may be limited.
“I would like to express my sincerest thanks to our Domino’s franchisee partners, dedicated team members and pizza enthusiasts across Australia and New Zealand for actively participating in this initiative and contributing to our purpose of bringing people close through pizza.”
Domino’s Warana franchisees Andrew Wood and Skye Youd were proud to achieve the highest number of pizza donations among Australian stores, generously donating 5,761 pizzas to those in need across the past three years.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to know that we’re supporting people in our community,” said Mr Wood.
“We’ve witnessed the impact of what providing free, hot and fresh meals to individuals facing hardships can do, particularly during this challenging period of rising living expenses. For many, it can make all the difference between feeding their families or paying rent.”
The Feed the Knead program is powered by community participation and the hard work of locally owned and operated Domino’s stores.
