Making a difference through Workplace Giving

Making a difference through Workplace Giving

June marks Workplace Giving Month, which celebrates the individuals who contribute a portion of their pre-tax salary to charity. At Domino’s, we’re proud to offer a Workplace Giving program to our employees, franchisees and team members, which supports Domino’s registered charity Give for Good.

With team members able to donate as little as 50 cents per week through their pay, every donation made through Workplace Giving to Give for Good is matched by Domino’s, helping Give for Good to continue making a difference to communities around the country.

Here, Domino’s employees share what it means to them to participate in Workplace Giving.

Bree Corthorn – Domino’s ANZ Social Media Manager

“I participate in Workplace Giving because I’ve seen firsthand all of the wonderful things that Give for Good and its partners do as a result of these funds, and Workplace Giving is such an easy way to help Give for Good continue to create pizza with a purpose,” said Bree.

When asked how she felt knowing the big difference a weekly donation to Give for Good was helping to make, Bree said, “It feels great! I’ve given to Domino’s internal foundation, the Partners Foundation, for my entire 15 years at Domino’s and it’s been wonderful to see the difference Workplace Giving has made in helping team members in need. Contributing to Workplace Giving for Give for Good feels like a natural extension of that.

“I love hearing a story about something Give for Good has done and thinking “I helped!”” said Bree.

For anyone considering donating through Workplace Giving, Bree has one simple message: “Just do it! Something that might seem like a small thing to you can contribute to making a huge difference for someone else.”

Josh Pitman – Domino’s ANZ Retail Services Manager

“I participate in Workplace Giving because it’s the right thing to do. It’s such an easy way to make a difference and provide support to those who need it most,” said Josh.

“These days, a lot of people are time-poor, which makes finding an opportunity to volunteer difficult, so it’s heart-warming to know that I am still making a difference through Workplace Giving despite my life being busy.”

Josh is an advocate of Workplace Giving and encourages anyone who is able to contribute to do so.

“While you probably won’t notice your contribution missing from your pay, it will be making a big difference to the charities Give for Good supports.

“I’d also encourage anyone who has been contributing to Workplace Giving for a while to consider increasing their donation if they can – every little bit counts.”

Millie Thompson – Domino Glebe team member

“I’m passionate about giving back through Workplace Giving. You never know who is struggling and even the smallest donation can help change someone’s situation,” said Domino’s Glebe team member Millie.

“For me personally, participating in Workplace Giving creates a sense of community and connectivity. As someone who also gives to Domino’s Partners Foundation, which helps team members in times of need, I am proud to know that should any of my colleagues be in need of a helping hand, that my donation through Workplace Giving can help to make a difference.

“Not only by giving are you paving the way for future generations to create a full circle of giving culture but when someone is in need you can see the good that Give for Good does and feel proud that you donated,” said Millie.

Nathan Scholz – Domino’s Head of Investor & Government Relations

“I’m proud that Domino’s has a registered charity, Give for Good, and is committed to giving back to the community through our charity partners.

“I wanted to support Give for Good’s work, and through Workplace Giving, I can do this through a donation each week,” said Nathan.

With Give for Good partnering with a number of Australian charities to make a positive difference in our local communities, Nathan said, “It’s great to know I’m helping not just one partner but 12 when I donate each week.”

“I’d encourage everyone to sign up to Workplace Giving if they can, as it’s a great way to contribute to the positive impact Give for Good is having across the country.”
