Domino’s and Give for Good raise dough for bushfire affected communities

In early December 2019, Domino’s stores across Australia raised almost $70,000 for bushfire affected communities.

More than 200 participating Domino’s stores across Australia raised ‘dough’ in support of Australian Red Cross’ disaster relief and recovery work, with 50c from every pizza sold donated to provide valuable support to those who need it most.

Domino’s registered charity Give for Good also contributed by donating $50,000 – bringing the total fundraising effort to almost $70,000.

Domino’s Australia and New Zealand CEO Nick Knight said supporting disaster relief and rural communities was important to Domino’s franchisees and team members, with so many local communities affected by bushfires across Australia.

“Getting in and feeding people in times of need is something we can do to help when times are tough, as we are currently seeing across the East Coast. We are proud to have raised these much-needed funds for Red Cross’ disaster relief and recovery work and are grateful to our generous customers for contributing to that effort.

“This has been a challenging time for many communities and I’m proud that, where it’s been safe to do so, our stores across Queensland and New South Wales have delivered more than 1,300 pizzas to emergency workers, volunteers and evacuation centres,” Mr Knight said.

“With the support of our registered charity, Give for Good, many stores have donated pizzas in their local communities, making sure those affected could enjoy a hot meal when it was likely the last thing on their mind.

“These communities across Queensland and New South Wales are not only our valued customers; they are our neighbours, our friends and our family and we are proud to do what we can to make this challenging time that little bit easier.”
