Domino’s registered charity announces three-year partnership with Rural Aid
Domino’s registered charity Give for Good has today announced a national partnership with Rural Aid – Australia’s leading rural charity.
Over the three-year partnership, Give for Good will donate $150,000 per year ($450,000 in total) to help accelerate the expansion of Rural Aid’s national footprint.
Rural Aid provides a range of support services to rural and remote communities, from mental wellbeing, farm rescue and rural community enhancement projects, to disaster assistance, which includes counselling and financial support.
Domino’s ANZ CEO and Give for Good Board Member Nick Knight said the charity is passionate about supporting rural communities.
“Our giving philosophy focuses on four key areas where we aim to develop sustainable best practices and make a difference, and one of those is rural communities,” Mr Knight said.
“As a food business, we know exactly how much hard work and dedication goes into growing our food and just how important it is that we support our Aussie farmers.
“In fact, more than 92 per cent of Australia’s food is sourced from our rural communities, driven by our local farmers. Australian farmers have long been known for their resilience, and for never giving up when the going gets tough. Despite this, our farmers all too often experience hardship, often due to natural disasters.
“It’s rare for a year to go by without our farmers experiencing extreme drought or floods, and sometimes both, which is why we’re proud to be partnering with Rural Aid to expand their services and provide more people with a helping hand when they need it most.”
The new partnership with Rural Aid is a continuation of Give for Good’s previous work with the Australian charity, which saw Domino’s hold a national fundraiser in 2018 to support Rural Aid’s ‘Buy a Bale’ campaign, which delivered cattle feed and other essential items to farmers in drought.
Rural Aid CEO, John Warlters, said: “There is an urgent need for dedicated wellbeing support across Australia’s rural and remote communities. The funding from Give for Good will assist us in expanding our capacity to deliver both our Stronger Futures and Disaster Assistance programs.
“We are grateful to Give for Good for this partnership, and the opportunity to continue empowering farmers and rural communities to have hope for the future, particularly during difficult periods.”
Give for Good secures much of its funding through Domino’s ‘Round Up for Charity’ initiative. Generous pizza lovers who wish to support Give for Good’s partnership with Rural Aid, along with other important Australian-based initiatives, are encouraged to round up their next Domino’s order when paying online.
