Domino’s registered charity partners with Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre

Domino’s registered charity, Give for Good has today announced a partnership with the Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre (AILC) – Australia’s only national provider of accredited Indigenous Leadership education programs.

Over the course of the one-year partnership, Give for Good will provide scholarships for six students to participate in a Certificate IV in Indigenous Leadership. The program called Leading the Way, is designed to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as they strengthen their leadership skills and build on their capabilities.

The Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre enables Indigenous Australians to develop their careers and expand the ways they contribute to society. Since the Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre was established in 2001, more than 3,500 lives have been transformed through the work they do.

Give for Good Board Member and acting Chair John Harney said the charity is passionate about supporting the education of Indigenous Australians.

“Through this course, students will build their confidence, learn new skills, and continue to grow their leadership capabilities,” Mr Harney said.

“We’re proud to work with the Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre to have a positive impact on the education of these future leaders.”

The Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre unlocks opportunities for current and future Indigenous Leaders across Australia through offering training and short courses in specific leadership skills.

Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre CEO, Robyn Forester, said: “We recognise the importance of leadership in driving sustainable change in our communities. With the scholarship funding from Give for Good, we can continue to help enable our people to develop their careers and expand the ways they contribute to the community.

“We are excited to be partnering with Give for Good to continue offering education to our communities. This works to support the continued development of thousands of years of leadership knowledge that our people hold and continue to share.”

With a giving philosophy focused on four key areas, Give for Good aims to develop sustainable best practices that make a difference. The partnership with the Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre falls across two of Give for Good’s core pillars: Education and Youth Initiatives and Leadership and Entrepreneurship, whereby Give for Good aims to have an impact on the education of future leaders.

Give for Good secures much of its funding through Domino’s ‘Round Up for Charity’ initiative. Generous pizza lovers who wish to support Give for Good’s partnership with the Australian Indigenous Leadership Centre, The Smith Family, Rural Aid and Lifeline (along with other important Australian-based initiatives), are encouraged to round up their next Domino’s order when paying online.
