Domino's Bendigo set to giveaway 1,000 FREE* pizzas to 'Lockdown Legends'

Domino's Bendigo set to giveaway 1,000 FREE* pizzas to 'Lockdown Legends'

For many Victorians, learning to live and work under stage three lockdown restrictions has been tough.

This month, local Domino’s Bendigo franchisees Lindsay and Jason Tod want to help bring a smile to the faces of isolating locals – giving away 1,000 FREE* piping hot pizzas to ‘Lockdown Legends’ in Bendigo.

The husband and wife team is encouraging Bendigo locals to ‘nominate a mate’ who is having a tough time in lockdown to receive a free, safe, hot meal.

“We all know a Lockdown Legend right now,” Mrs Tod said.

“Whether it be our friend who is a nurse working hard on the frontline to care for others; our child’s schoolteacher who is dedicated to preparing online learning material week after week, or even a friend or family member juggling working from home or struggling with isolation.

“These ‘Lockdown Legends’ deserve a pick me up – a slice of normalcy during these difficult times. We all know 2020 has been tough. I don’t think there’s anyone that hasn’t been touched, in some way, by the events of this year. And being in lockdown doesn’t make it any easier.

“At Domino’s, we’re about so much more than just pizza. We’re about connection and bringing a smile to people’s faces, and during a time of extreme stress and uncertainty that’s never been more important.

“We hope that by serving up free, hot meals to those doing it tough in lockdown, we can help brighten someone’s day and let isolating locals know they are not alone.

“We know the offer of a free pizza may not be much, but it is our way of reminding the community that we are in this together. We will get through this.”

Mr Tod said these challenging times have highlighted just how important it is to look out for your local community.

“As a small business owner, I am passionate about giving back to the local communities in which we operate, and I feel incredibly lucky to be able to do so at this time,” he said.

“Individuals, families and organisations can be nominated as ‘Lockdown Legends’ and I look forward to giving away 1,000 safe, hot meals across our three stores: Domino’s Bendigo, Strathdale and Kangaroo Flat.

“We encourage Bendigo locals to nominate as many people as they can. The more pizza we can giveaway, the better!”
