One to ‘watch’: Local woman celebrates Domino’s milestone

Local woman Tegan Eayrs started her ‘career in pizza’ as a Delivery Expert at Domino’s Redcliffe in 2014, helping to deliver safe, hot meals to customers in the community after graduating high school.

Within a year, Tegan was promoted to Store Manager, and then again shortly after to Regional Manager, where she was responsible for the operations and performance of five Domino’s stores in the Moreton Bay Region.

Today, Tegan is the proud owner and operator of Domino’s Redcliffe – celebrating officially taking on her own ‘slice’ of the pizza business!

A loving mother-of-two, mental health advocate and Taekwondo enthusiast all at the age of 25, Tegan said it was time to take the next step in her Domino’s career and add ‘franchisee’ to her growing list of achievements.

“After working as a Regional Manager for a few years helping to train and develop team members, I was ready for a new challenge,” she said.

“In my previous role I gained a lot of valuable experience leading teams to make, bake and take pizzas, and am so excited to continue to share that with my team at Domino’s Redcliffe as the franchisee.”

But Tegan isn’t running just any old store. She’s running one of the most successful stores in the country and was recently presented with a special Domino’s Rolex watch to celebrate her success.

The ‘Rolex Challenge’ was started by Domino’s Founder Mr Tom Monaghan in 1977, who used to gift hard-working store managers the Rolex watch off his own wrist for achieving a sales record.

These days, to win the Rolex Challenge a Domino’s store must achieve a set sales target for four consecutive weeks in a row and a high Operations Evaluation Report (OER) score.

It isn’t easy, but it is considered the pinnacle of success at Domino’s – with only the top two per cent of stores across Australia achieving this award.

Tegan’s Business Partner Steven Gilbert, who has mentored her since the very beginning, said he isn’t surprised by the award.

“As an independent, solutions-focused operator who understands hard work and leads by example, I couldn’t ask for a better business-partner and friend!” he said.

“Her progression through Domino’s has been fast, but Tegan likes challenges, and her drive for success has seen her reach every goal she has ever set!

“She’s an inspiring female leader, and an incredible role model not only for her two children, but for everyone within the Domino’s business. I feel lucky to have the opportunity to know her and help support her along her journey.”

When asked what her advice to other young local women who aspire to become business owners was, Tegan said: “Work hard and always believe in yourself. Don’t be afraid to go after what you want. It may feel like it is impossible but remember, you can do anything you set your mind to! Surround yourself with supportive, likeminded people and you will get there.”
