Domino’s Minds & Meals partners with GIVIT and Australian Red Cross to provide disaster relief

Domino’s registered charity Minds & Meals has today announced two new partnerships with GIVIT and Australian Red Cross, charities that provide support to those experiencing hardship in times of disaster. This funding will help the two organisations provide the essential items services and psychosocial support for people in times of need.

These partnerships will extend beyond a disaster response, playing a key role in supporting community preparedness and response. They are in addition to Minds & Meals current partnership with Orange Sky, a service that provides free laundry, showers and conversation with people experiencing homelessness or hardship. Our support ensures Orange Sky is prepared to mobilise and activate these services when disaster strikes.

Domino’s ANZ CEO and Minds & Meals Chair Kerri Hayman said she is proud not only able to provide people with a safe, hot meal but also much needed financial support in times of crisis.

“Our registered charity, Minds & Meals is really made possible through the generosity of our customers and Australian’s are renowned for rallying together in times of crisis, so we feel privileged to be able to partner with both GIVIT and Australian Red Cross who will provide support to communities before, during and after disaster strikes.

“In addition to our ongoing Orange Sky partnership, we hope that our support can make a difference to those in need due to circumstances beyond their control.”

GIVIT is a national not-for-profit that partners with local charities and organisations to connect those in need with generous donors, ensuring that Australians experiencing hardship receive the essential times and services they need, when they need them most.

“We are thrilled to welcome Minds & Meals as our National Disaster & Emergency Partner, allowing us to provide 100,000 essential goods and services to Aussies impacted by natural disasters. Our online donation platform gives the Domino’s store network and generous customers the opportunity to donate exactly what’s needed to communities doing it tough.” said Chris Staines, GIVIT CEO.

The partnership between Domino’s Minds & Meals and Australian Red Cross will help Australians be better prepared and more resilient to disasters by investing in community preparedness, response and recovery activities. Minds & Meals has committed $100,000 to the partnership and will activate regular in-store fundraising to raise funds for response efforts.

“Last year, every 90 seconds, someone in Australia turned to Australian Red Cross for support. Being ready to response in times of disaster is critical, enabling us to provide services such as psychological first aid, long-term recovery support, and community resilience building. This vital work is made possible through donations, and we are delighted that Domino’s Minds & Meals recognises the value of our contribution to the community,” commented Nichola Krey, Director, Victoria and Emergency Response, Australian Red Cross.

“Through this partnership, Australian Red Cross will be able to deliver critical support to an estimated 880 more people impacted by disasters across Australia—helping us prepare communities, provide comfort and care during disaster or emergencies and support long-term recovery efforts. With extreme weather events becoming more frequent and intense due to the changing climate, it is often the most vulnerable who are hit hardest – together, we are committed to making a difference.”
