Domino’s set to deliver a jaw-dropping 412 pizzas every 60 seconds this Origin

As the anticipation for the upcoming trio of Origin games heats up, Domino’s has all the right ingredients to guess how many pizzas will be ordered by footy lovers nationwide this year.

By taking a bite out of pizza data from across Queensland and New South Wales during last year’s games, Domino’s has kneaded together an estimate of just how busy Domino’s stores will be!

Of the 323,200 pizzas delivered in total across each game in 2023, more than 31,800 were Pepperoni and 59,500 were BBQ Meatlovers. And we can’t forget about the sides, with more than 218,800 garlic breads ordered across both states!

On average, for each game, Domino’s delivered an impressive ~seven pizzas per second, with Domino’s Delivery Experts travelling a staggering ~585km per minute.

To put this into perspective, during Game 1 2023, the first try of the series was scored on the seventh minute. In that time, Domino’s Delivery Experts had already delivered more than 3,100 pizzas and 2,121 garlic breads whilst travelling ~4,095km/s since kick-off – the equivalent of 1,740 laps around the footy field!

Domino’s ANZ Chief Operating Officer Kerri Hayman said that Domino’s is looking forward to feeding pizza lovers across the country again this year as they cheer on their favourite team.

“Origin nights are the busiest nights on the Domino’s calendar, but this doesn’t mean we won’t be focused on delivering more for our customers,” said Ms Hayman.

“Providing joyful experiences is what Domino’s is all about, and our teams are ready and waiting to deliver freshly made pizzas without dropping the ball on food quality, value or safety.”

With Domino’s teams across the country gearing up to manage their busiest night of the year, the competition isn’t just on the field, it’s in the kitchen too! Domino’s pizza makers are training harder than ever, perfecting their dough-making techniques and sauce-spreading skills to ensure that every Hot & Fresh pizza is a winner.

“Just like the players on the field, our team members are passionate about what they do, and they’re committed to giving it their all during the big night,” said Ms Hayman.

“Domino’s is excited to be part of the Origin experience once again, and we look forward to seeing our customers celebrating with a slice of their favourite pizza.”

As the excitement builds for Wednesday’s game, Domino’s will be going the extra mile to make sure piping hot pizzas arrive safely at your doorstep right on time.

No matter which team comes out on top, one thing is for certain – thousands of footy lovers will be able to enjoy a slice of the action with a slice of their favourite Domino’s pizza.
