Domino’s and Give for Good feed the frontline
Domino’s, in partnership with Give for Good, has been working hard to feed the frontline – donating more than 22,000 hot meals to those on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Throughout the months of March and April, Domino’s delivered pizzas to more than 44,000 frontline workers including teachers, supermarket teams, supply chain workers, emergency services, health services, police and those most vulnerable in our communities, including the elderly and homeless, as a small token of appreciation for their ongoing commitment and support.
Give for Good’s newly appointed General Manager Tracy Llewelyn said it was times like this that communities needed to come together and look after one another.
“As in all the toughest times throughout history we have seen heroes emerge, some of these people are your more obvious heroes such as our nurses, doctors and first responders, while others include shelf-fillers at our grocery stores, teachers and those manning virus call centres.
“Across the country, we’ve seen that resilient Australian spirit shine through, and our frontline workers are doing an incredible job supporting their local communities in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Ms Llewelyn said Domino’s was privileged to continue to feed the community at this time, and with the support of Give for Good, deliver hot meals to the frontline men and women working around the clock to protect us and keep our society moving.
“Domino’s is often the last to close during a disaster and we are grateful that we can continue to safely operate at this time and give back to our local communities.
“As government restrictions were put in place, and more pressure was put on people in essential services, we wanted to do what we could to help and to say an enormous thank you to everyone for their hard work, courage and sacrifice in these unprecedented times,” Ms Llewelyn said.
“We know this is only the beginning, and as the situation progresses over the coming weeks and months we will continue to feed our community and look for ways in which we can provide support to those who need it most.”
For as long as it is safe to do so, Domino’s stores will remain open for Pickup and Delivery.
